3rd Quarter 2011 - Company Wide Update

The 3rd Quarter of 2011 has H&S even busier than was expected and forecasted.
Ranging from Eagle Ford Shale related projects in the oil patch to the refineries and 3rd and 4th quarter turnarounds in Citgo, FHR and at Valero 3-Rivers and Bill Greehey plants.

Job Sites:

At Valero Bill Greehey Refinery, work continues in many units from SMR, Alky, SRU and Eagle Ford Shale projects. H&S has been very busy and expect to see the pace to continue thru-out the remainder of the year at the Greehey plant.

At Valero Refining 3-Rivers plant, the workload has stayed busy there as well with Eagle Ford Shale, FGR projects, a new truck loading rack to name a few. Turnarounds working back to back with the Greehey plant work forces are very much in demand between the two facilities.

At Citgo’s Refining in Corpus Christi, H&S has begun a Small Caps Projects group and will see several small jobs thru the end of this year. ULSD and MDH Phase II turnarounds are scheduled this last quarter and the forecast is for a small build up of forces to continue. H&S will be working with the maintenance group on some integrity related work to some sphere tanks. H&S will also be helping out with the demo and install of new SW & VTB railroad crossing project including a new bridge crossing.

At FHR, there are approximately 20 small projects still for H&S to complete as we begin this last quarter, with the MI Piping work completed those forces have been reassigned to Citgo.

At Mark-West Javelina plant we have begun several small projects related to their Sulpherox Unit, incinerator, new lab and a host of others. Working closely with our customers on small projects that enable them to save costs on engineering expenses has proven to be one of H&S’s strongest assets.

H&S Vessel and Machine shop is staying very busy with work from the oil-patch as well. Helping to meet our customer’s job demands, Orion Drilling, EFS Midstream, Gulf Stream Marine, Jet Specialty, De Dietrich, and others. The fabrication of skids, launchers, receivers as well as various machining projects the vessel and machine shop as been putting in many hours as well keeping up.

H&S’s Pipeline Division stays very busy thru-out South & Central Texas. Working with our customers like Shell, EOG, Pioneer, Copano Energy, Shell Oil and Exxon to name a few. The ever increasing demands by the oil-field / midstream developments, our pipeline division continues to grow and help meet our customer’s needs.

H&S Constructors, Inc. has in the last year increased its turn-key capability by adding another division that can perform on stream leak repairs. We have also certified several of our technicians in bolt-torquing and bolt-tensioning. We can now offer our customers full service field machining and cold cutting capabilities. Continuing to add to our fleet of (38) hydraulic cranes, by the addition of (2) more 140 ton and (1) 165 ton truck cranes. Our fleet of now is up to 6 hydro excavators, and look to add more this year, due to they continue to be in high demand in this industry.

Let’s all stay safe and keep up the good work!

Reminder: My Safety Starts at Home and Finishes at Home!

From the desk of our V.P.,

Like so many others, H&S Constructors finds we currently need more office space, therefore we have decided that we are building a new office next door to our old one at 1616 Valero Way. It will be a 3 story building with expansion possible in the future. With the completion of the demolition of the old two story office building previously owned by Citgo Refining, we are on our way. Next phase we will tear down the old annex building and safety and personnel will move into the current two story building. This will be a painful move since we have been here for over 25 years. The office has been good for us and we have started many other businesses in this building such as BHP Engineering, Govind and Associates and Rabalais Electric.

Plans are to move in our new offices by the end of the first quarter of 2012. Fulton Construction will be the builder, H&S has had a long relationship with Fulton and we think they will be an easy fit for H&S.

Our new offices in Asherton are almost complete and it opens up a lot of opportunities for the Eagle Ford oil find. It has been reported that this oil find is the largest ever in our nation. This find really helps our country lessening our dependence on foreign oil. Not only that, it is providing many jobs and will help our budget shortfall.

We are experiencing a lot of wild fires, the news reported that we are losing a home every 4 minutes and over 100,000 acres have been destroyed. Please pray for all of these families that are losing their homes and pray for all the fire fighters and emergency workers as they risk their lives everyday protecting the families of our great state.
