2nd Quarter 2013 - Company Wide Update

2ND Qtr. of 2013 saw an increase in the C.C. area refineries projects. Work for us consisted of various sizes from small cap projects to a major turnaround. These coupled with an upswing in our pipeline activities, meant many people moving in and out of the area

Job Sites:

At Valero Bill Greehey Refinery, with completion of our Alky turnaround our capital projects resumed to be the prime focus for us there. We want to recognize the success of the Alky turnaround with our Valero partners. A strong team with a great team effort resulted in a very successful project. Several projects are underway from the west plant docks to Complex 8.

At Valero 3Rvrs Refinery, a number of smaller projects are underway. With several projects covering lots of ground, activity keeps a smaller than usual work force very busy. From tank farm repairs, foundation repairs to new projects, the work force there stays busy. With numerous small projects and an Alky turnaround in October, the crews will remain busy thru the 2nd & 3rd quarters of 2014.

At Citgo Refining in Corpus Christi, the Small Caps Projects team we have become a part of last year has continued to move along with many projects. New NHT and ADP compressor projects underway leading up to a September turnaround, manpower will remain a steady build up thru the rest of the 2014 tear.

H&S’s Pipeline Division remains busy. Recent growth has led H&S to opening new facilities in the Kennedy and the Karnes City area. These additions to our sites in Alice, Edinburg and Asherton makes H&S Constructors available even more than ever to assist our customers with the construction / pipeline needs.

H&S Constructors remains committed to our customers;

To be ready where and when they need us with a proven workforce.

Safety, Quality and Innovative thinking, lead to successful projects

This has always been our base of values.

Stay Safe – Work Hard – Go America!

Reminder: My Safety Starts at Home and Finishes at Home!

From the desk of our V.P.,

Well we are way into 2013 already and it only started last week it seems. A lot has happened in the last few months. We have finally moved into our new offices in Corpus Christi and we are in the process of remodeling our old offices in order to move out of the old annex building that we have used for 15 years. The old annex building will be torn down and removed. We are also planning a new safety training room after removal of the annex.

We continue to spread our footprint with the addition of the new yard in Kennedy and beginning another yard in Yorktown, Texas. As we continue this growth we are reminded so often how H&S could not grow without good people in the organization. Pat and I appreciate all of everyone’s hard work and dedication.

The future looks really bright here in Texas especially in our area. There are a lot of expansions planned in Nueces and San Patricio counties alone. There is a new plastics plant moving in called M&G, it is supposed to be about a 750 million dollar plant. Along with that we have a steel plant moving in to San Patricio county as well. It is supposed to be in phases but will be over a billion dollar plant. Then we have Chenier energy also headed to San Patricio which will export LNG overseas.

Follow all of that with a large expansion at Valero and Flint Hills means a lot of jobs for a lot of people. It has been reported that this year Texas (Eagle Ford Shale) will produce more oil than Saudi Arabia. It may be possible we can become independent of Middle East oil in the next year or so. It has also been reported that we have enough natural gas in Texas to sustain energy in the entire US for the next 60 years.

H&S could not have done any of this without each and every one that work here. As I talk to our customers they tell me how professional we are and how they are very impressed with our safety records and commitment to safety. We must commit every minute to being safe and going home the way we came to work

Respectfully,

Michael D. Scott
